Junk

b&w photograph, "Junk", by Matthew Dalton, All Rights Reserved

There is just something about a pile of stuff with no real value to the world. This collection of random, long ago forgotten items, were just sitting there waiting to be noticed. I can't really say what it was that attracted me to this, but there is a harmony to it that is just really nice to look at. To me so much of black & white photography is about taking away the colors that we see every day and presenting a somewhat "naked" image of reality. I think that is why this photography moves me so: "This is nothing more than a pile of things no one wanted."
